Well, it's Thanksgiving, more than a month already into the Fall term. I think it's fair to say I'm staying afloat so far, but I'm not sure if I'm up to the 80%+ standard I've set for myself. Still, I feel like I'm doing a much better job staying on top of all the assignments, labs, problem sets, and midterms (already!). Time is still short for fun and games.
Random stuff:
- I've started reading War and Peace. I'm on p. 140 of ~1500, but it's surprisingly easy reading so far. I think people are just easily intimidated by large books.
- I finished entering all the poetry I had on my old site into the new SQL/PHP system. Some of my favourites include And Death Shall Have No Dominion, beware : do not read this poem, Ye Goatherd Gods and of course Ozymandias. What do you like?
- The engineering jazz band I hack about with, the Skule Stageband, is having a gig 5:30 PM Friday 21 October in the Atrium - if you don't go to U of T, that's in the basement of the Sanford Fleming Building (south of the big dome that's Con Hall). The price (none) is right, and SUDS will be selling cheap beer - come out for some great music!
- It's 3 AM - I guess that makes me a hypocrite about staying of top of sleep. Bedtime!
